Lance Uggla Announces Creation of Charitable Foundation Focusing on Education, Health and Access to Arts

April 02, 2020

LONDON (April 2, 2020) – Lance Uggla, CEO and Chairman of IHS Markit, today announced the launch of the Uggla Family Foundation, through the UBS UK donor-advised foundation, a UK registered charity, with an initial gift of $24 million of his personal IHS Markit shares.

The Foundation will focus on three main areas: education, health and access to the arts. One of the first targeted programs will be scholarships for talented individuals who do not otherwise have the financial means to attend higher education. Over time, Mr. Uggla intends to contribute further into the foundation.

“I had tremendous opportunities throughout my life, enabling me to follow my passion and, with some amazing colleagues, build IHS Markit,” said Lance Uggla. “In these challenging economic times, I want to give back to society and have established this foundation to support causes I care deeply about, including improving education for those who cannot afford it, improving the health of our community and ensuring accessible arts for all.  I look forward to working closely with the organizations the foundation supports to help people overcome barriers, transform their lives and pursue their dreams.”
