LONDON (9 November, 2018) – IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, is providing a fleet of state-of-the-art electric bikes for use by employees at its London headquarters in Moorgate. Freebike is one of the most technologically advanced, dockless electric bikes in the world and is unlocked in a few seconds via an app or swipe card.

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental protection, IHS Markit is using Freebike to provide employees with a fast and environmentally friendly way to travel to their customers around London.

“We’re really excited about our new fleet of e-bikes – they’re zero emission, easy to use and the perfect way for our employees to get to meetings around London,” said Lance Uggla, CEO and chairman of IHS Markit. “I’m delighted that we’re launching this initiative in the City and taking important steps to reduce pollution and congestion in such a busy area. We will be looking to expand this pilot to our other global offices in the coming months.”

“We’re thrilled that IHS Markit – our first corporate user – is launching the e-bikes program to improve its carbon footprint,” said Katharine Butler, co-Founder of Freebike. “The congestion in London means that users can not only get to their meetings in half the time that it would take in a car, but with Freebike’s electric assist motor, they will do so without breaking a sweat. It is also a lot of fun, a word not often associated with city travel.”

Freebike currently operates dockless e-bike sharing systems in Finland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
