Dr. Raad Alkadiri serves as Managing Director for Petroleum Sector Risk at IHS Energy. He developed and leads the Iraq Advisory Service, and provides in-depth analysis of Iraq's ongoing political developments and emerging business environment. Dr. Raad was instrumental in developing the above ground risk capability and methodology that is core to IHS Energy’s petroleum sector risk product. An experienced international country risk specialist, he has worked as an executive advisor to oil & gas companies, national oil companies and governments worldwide for almost 20 years. Dr. Raad previously served as a policy advisor and assistant private secretary to the U.K. Special Representatives to Iraq (2003-2004) and as a senior policy advisor to Her Majesty's Ambassador in Baghdad from 2006 to 2007. From 1995 through 1997, he was a Middle East analyst and deputy managing editor at the U.K.-based consultancy Oxford Analytica. Dr. Raad’s degrees include a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Arts from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations from St. Antony's College, Oxford University, U.K.
