Jeremy Binnie has been the Middle East/Africa editor for Jane's Defence Weekly since 2012. Before his current position, he was the editor of Terrorism & Security Monitor and an associate editor of Jane's Intelligence Review. He has more than 15 years of experience working for IHS Markit and the Jane's Information Group. He is a leading expert on Middle Eastern and North African defense and security issues, including Al-Qaeda and other transnational jihadist groups. He was an author of '"Infernal machines: improvised explosive devices," published in eight languages in Small Arms Survey 2013 (Cambridge University Press). Mr. Binnie was graduated from the University of Exeter, Exeter, England, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Arts in history and politics.
