Dr. Howard Archer is Chief European and U.K. Economist of the Country Analysis and Forecasting Group, IHS Economics. He manages a team of economists responsible for European macroeconomic work and particularly specializes in the U.K. and Eurozone economies. He has over 25 years of professional experience in economic analysis and forecasting. Dr. Archer is the author of several professional and academic articles that have appeared in publications such as CBI European Business Handbook, as well as in Accountancy and The Treasurer magazines. He is widely quoted in the press and deals with the media extensively. Prior to joining IHS, he served as chief European economist for Standard & Poor's DRI, which he joined in June 2000. He also was a senior economist in NatWest Group's market intelligence department. Dr. Archer’s university degrees include a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from the University of Surrey, Guildford, U.K., a Master of Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Multinational Business from the University of Reading, Berkshire, U.K.
