Mr. Brian Jackson is a senior economist with the China Regional Service at IHS Markit. Mr. Jackson focuses on economic and business environment analysis and forecasting for China's national and the 31 regional economies. His recent research includes Brexit impacts on China, state‐owned enterprise reform, foreign direct investment reform, industrial restructuring, the services transition, housing markets and more. He has been based in Beijing since 2007. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Jackson worked as a policy analyst with the American Chamber of Commerce in China; the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of UNCTAD and the WTO; and on various China‐based consulting projects funded by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Trade. Mr. Jackson's degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado State University, US, and a Master in Economics and Finance from the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI), an institution in Madrid, Spain, created by the Bank of Spain.
