Mr. Carlos Caicedo is a Senior Principal Analyst in the IHS Country Risk Analysis and Forecasting team, with more than 20 years of experience in covering political and macroeconomic risk in Latin America. He specializes in policymaking and its impact on energy and infrastructure in Brazil and the regulatory outlook for Argentina, as well as fiscal and monetary policy across the region. He also covers resource nationalism and the implications for the oil and mining industries region-wide. He is an expert in both the Colombian internal conflict and the terrorism threat posed by Mexico’s drug cartels. Mr. Caicedo’s university degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and History from Saint Thomas Aquinas University, Bogota, Colombia, a Master of Arts in Latin America Area Studies from University College London (UCL), U.K., and a Post-graduate Certificate in Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London, U.K.
