Omar Hamid is Head of Asia Pacific Country Risk at IHS. He specializes in terrorism risks in South Asia, specifically Pakistan, Afghanistan and India, Politics in India, Myanmar and Thailand. His recent analysis has included studies of the South China Sea dispute, Challenges and prospects for Narendra Modi's government in India, social media monitoring of Jihadist groups in South Asia and implications for a civil war in Afghanistan. Omar received an MSc in Criminal Justice Policy from the London School Economics, an LLM from the University College London and an LLB from the University of Kent. Prior to joining Exclusive Analysis, Omar was a Senior Counter-terrorism Police Officer in Karachi, Pakistan.
